Kanye West released the final version of his “Monster” video featuring Rick Ross, Jay-Z, and Nicki Minaj today, nearly a year after the song leaked to the airwaves. In the video, directed by Jake Nava, Yeezy summons the dead in an scary, haunted mansion filled with ghosts, goblins, and bloodsuckers.
With an introductory disclaimer that reads, "The following content is in no way to be interpreted as misogynistic or negative towards any groups of people. It is an art piece and it shall be taken as such," the video features a cigar smoking Hugh Hefner-esque Ricky Rozay wielding a chain saw in one room, while a sharply-dressed Hova cavorts with a corpse in another. Down the hall, Mr. West channels his narcoleptic side on silk sheets with lifeless beauties after beautifully manicured hands scarily grab for him. As always, Nicki Minaj steals the spotlight as her good and evil alter-egos battle it out in the frightful visuals.
