New updates to photo, video apps for iPhone, iPad, iPod touch

According to a Mar. 16 report in “All App News”, “Viddy” has just released a new update. In case you haven't yet heard of “Viddy”, it is to videos what “Instagram” is to photos. You can share videos with the “Viddy” community, your friends or just with certain individuals.

This new update comes on the heels of the huge update that it introduced a few weeks ago. In that update “Viddy”doubled the length of videos that can be recorded and shared. A video can now be 30 seconds long, which is five times longer than the video length permitted in “Vine”. (“Vine” is an app started by Twitter where users share six second videos.)

Also included in this new update is a new music track (“Wild for the Night”), new vignettes for four filters and lots of camera options for before and after recording a video. What's more, you can now invite Facebook and Twitter friends (who aren't yet on “Viddy”) right from the app and you can repost videos to your followers. Free.

Another way to share memories, or just fun parts of you day with friends, is, of course, with photos. And one of the better camera apps available is called “KitCam”. This excellent camera app has also just released an update that's added lots of cool features.

One of the cool new features is called “Night Snap” and it lets you take awesome photos in low light. There's also a front facing flash (so you can take a photo of yourself in the dark), new frames and the ability to snap photos in uncompressed TIFF for top image quality. Price: 99 cents.

These apps are compatible with iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. We'll be back next time with more news and free apps for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch! Happy St. Patrick's Day!
