The fast pace, epic weapons, and giant roaster of characters will be making a comeback according to Epic.
The co-founder and Vice President, Mark Rein, has tweeted twice to announce and confirm that the company is making a new Unreal. "I love #UnrealTournament - So excited for the comeback! More next week!"
Mark wasn't the only vice president with exciting announcement, Product Development Vice President, Paul Meegan tweeted: "UE4 Dev Community + Epic. The future of Unreal Tournament. Tune in to http://www.Twitch.tv/UnrealEngine Thursday at 2pm ET."
Although it's great to hear announcements from engine developers, last month the founder of Epic, Tim Sweeney said "We’re not [planning on] shipping an Unreal Tournament game. We have a lot of nostalgia for the game but we’re actually not developing anything in the Unreal game universe at all at the moment."
It's been six years since the last Unreal Tournament was released on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
More info will come in the following week.
