Milan, Italy – Blood Concept is an Italian company that has developed four unisex perfumes that tout a “mysterious note: a metallic vague suspicion” based on the scent of blood types, according to the fragrance Website.
“Filled with legends and meanings, blood is soaked with mystery, fascination and respect... it guards a multitude of secrets that reveals our inner and unique way of being,” according to the site.

Blood Concept created the scents as a “...private celebration of the vivid and fascinating liquid that flows in our veins. Because blood is actually the river of life.”
Type O is described as primitive and carnal, with raspberry, thyme, birch, rose hip and cedar.
Type A is aromatic, green and symbolizes a relationship with nature that is clean and comfortable. It contains basil, star anise and tomato leaves.
Type B is spicy, woody, eclectic and nomadic, with hints of spice, black cherry, pomegranate, teak, black tea and apple.
Type AB is described as “A loner chemist stumbling upon unavoidable changes,” according to the Blood Concept Website. It contains notes of pebble, water, slate and aluminum.
The Daily Mail reports that the Italian company is not the first to use the scent of blood in a fragrance. According to the publication, Lady Gaga's upcoming perfume will have the scent of her blood injected into the fragrance so it will smell like her.
