2K Sports announced additional modes for "WWE 2K14" today that will revolve around beating and defending The Undertaker's legendary undefeated streak at Wrestlemania," 2K's Corey Ledesma told Examiner in an exclusive interview.
"When you talk about 30 years of Wrestlemania, we felt we had to pay homage to a certain somebody in the WWE, someone with a lot of history. That man is The Undertaker," Ledesma confirmed to Examiner.
The the first mode, "Beat the Streak," Ledesma said, pitches a player against an Undertaker with a "crazy high" level of difficulty, one that even the game's creators have trouble beating. From the lights in the arena going out, to lightning strikes, the mode is sure to capture the allure of Undertaker's persona and legendary undefeated streak at Wrestlemania.
The other mode, "Defend the Streak," is a variation of the old "Slobberknocker" mode, will have Undertaker fight against a gauntlet of opponents for as long as possible, without getting pinned. Players can then upload their best scores in both modes to 2K's server, Ledesma said.
2K also announced that "WWE 2K14" will feature an enhanced create-a-title and attire system, as well as a revamped "Universe" mode and rivalry system.
"WWE 2K14" is scheduled for an October 29 release on the XBox 360 and PlayStation 3.
