New TV Commercial Driving Strong Interest in Hyundai Equus

According to KBB.com’s Weekly Hot Car Report, the new TV commercial Hyundai has put out for its über-luxury car the Equus is driving strong interest. Apparently, consumers are fascinated by the owner’s manual that comes loaded on an iPad.

In its analysis of the strong interest in the Equus, KBB.com said, “Behold the enduring power of television advertising and the proven appeal of Apple products. The 2011 Hyundai Equus realized a 124 percent jump in kbb.com shopper activity this week, coinciding neatly with the launch of a television campaign that introduces the Equus while highlighting the all-new luxury sedan’s first-of-its-kind owner’s manual: an iPad. The convergence of cars and consumer electronics continues to accelerate rapidly, and we haven’t seen anything yet.”

As previously announced, the Equus comes with a traditional owner’s manual but also with a manual app loaded onto an Apple iPad that is included in the $58,000 MSRP of the car. As Hyundai said in a press release earlier this month, “Hyundai is redefining the luxury vehicle ownership experience with the launch of the Equus Owner's Manual App for iPad®, iPhone and iPod touch. This is a clean-sheet approach to the luxury sedan's key features that also includes live service scheduling, video tutorials and location-based dealer locator. The app is available now on the App Store for owners and non-owners, and is available to download for iPads that Hyundai is providing to all new Equus owners.”
