New TTXGP schedule for the UK and Italy championship series

The eGrandPrix, parent of the TTXGP electric motorcycle race series, just posted new dates for the UK and Italy races on the 2010 calendar. The TTXGP is the world's leading zero carbon clean emission motorsport series. The TTXGP focuses on electric motorcycles and is a championship series of 13 motorcycle races being held in the US, the UK and Italy throughout 2010 with a grand championship race in Spain.

In the Italian championshp series it was the first two rounds (Magione on 26/27 June and Franciacorta on 24/25 July) which were changed to new dates and venues. The new dates in the Italian series will make for a very busy month for the participating teams.

In the UK championship, citing technical issues, the previous round 1 at Caldwell Park and round 3 at Castle Combe have been replaced with new dates. One of the new dates, at Donington Park, helps to mark the relaunch of one of Britains historic race tracks. According to the Save Donington Park website, this track has over 80 years of racing history behind it but fell on hard economic times.

One effect of these schedule changes is to reduce the number of overlaps. Under the previous schedule had a couple weekends with TTXGP races being held in different countries, on the same weekend.

The TTXGP UK Championship 2010 calendar as follows:

Round 1...........Snetterton........10th & 11th July
Round 2...........Anglesey..........24th & 25th July
Round 3...........Donington Park....21st & 22nd August
Round 4...........Brands Hatch.......2nd & 3rd October

The Italian National Championship calendar as follows:

Round 1......Mugello.............29 August
Round 2......Franciacorta........05 September
Round 3......Vallelunga..........12 September
Round 4......Mugello.............26 September

The remaining races in the North America National Championship calendar are as follows:

Round 3.....Mosport International......10 & 11th July
Round 4.....Virginia International.......13, 14, 15th August

The TTXGP Grand Championship race for 2010 will be held October 24th at the track in Albacete Spain. The top 8 teams from each national championship race series will be invited to the grand championship race.
