The used test sticks sell for as little as $25. Sellers advertise many possible uses for the positive tests, including baby shower gag gifts, playing pranks on family members and tricking a reluctant boyfriend into finally popping the question.
One seller bragged that she doesn’t use tests from the Dollar Store. She uses the pricier EPT brand instead.
Another pregnant woman explained that she has been unable to work due to a high risk pregnancy, so she thought peeing on a stick and then selling it would be an easy way to make money. Unfortunately for her, interest in her product hasn’t been as high as she anticipated. She’s yet to make a sale.
This is certainly not the strangest offering on Craigslist. One couple even found a baby to adopt on the online classified website.
Do you think it should be illegal to sell positive pregnancy tests?
