New Trattoria al Forno to open on Disney’s Boardwalk in December

The latest addition to the fabulous restaurants on Disney’s Boardwalk is set to open in December. WESH Orlando shared on July 17, 2014 that Disney is starting to give sneak peaks of what guests can expect from Trattoria al Forno. From the looks of it, everyone needs to get their taste buds ready, because they are in for a treat once this new Italian restaurant opens.

The Disney Parks blog was the first to take us into the mind’s of the Disney chefs and shared some of the menu items planned for the grand opening of Trattoria al Forno. Here is a list of some of those items:

Neopolitan-style pizzas: This pizza style comes straight out of Naples, Italy and are made with a simple tomato sauce and fresh mozzarella.

Fresh Italian meats: Using an Italian flywheel slicer, the chefs at Trattoria al Forno will be serving up fresh, paper-thin sliced meats that will be served with a variety of olives and caponata.

Other menu items will include pastas, risottos, seafood, braised beef Bolognese, pork shop alla Milanese and chicken breast alla Parmigiana.

Dessert items will include tiramisu, lemon panna cotta, gelatos and bomboloni (Italian donut holes).

According to the Disney Parks blog, all of the wines available at Trattoria al Forno are 100 percent Italian. They have been gathered from historic wine region in Tuscany, Veneto and Piedmont. Guests can choose from more than 60 different bottles of wine and more than 25 individual glasses of wine. Italian beers, coffees and sodas will also be available.

From the looks of it, Disney chefs have used old-style Italian techniques to make the menu at Trattoria al Forno as authentic as possible. Handcrafted cheese and wood-burning ovens are just the beginning of the many tools the chefs will be using to create their Italian masterpieces.
