New Trailer for 'The Double' Pits Jesse Eisenberg Against Himself

Doppelgangers are definitely in right now, and while Denis Villeneuve and Jake Gyllenhaal's Enemy is a total creep-fest, The Double seems to be offering something lighter...but still quite weird. Directed by Richard Ayoade (Submarine) and starring Jesse Eisenberg in twin roles, the film centers on Simon James, an inconsequential office worker who discovers he has a more aggressive, more confident double named James Simon. He proceeds to take over Simon's world, even moving in on the woman (Mia Wasikowska) he's been crushing on.

The Double

Although we've seen quite a bit already, yet another trailer has been released and it may be the best one yet. Funny, with a slippery offbeat tone, it still holds a darker edge that should make it one of the more interesting movies to come out this year. Co-starring Chris O'Dowd, Sally Hawkins, Wallace Shawn, Yasmine Page, and Noah Taylor, The Double opens May 9th.
