New trailer for Sasquatch horror film 'Exists'

From Eduardo Sánchez, the man who started the found footage film craze when he directed "The Blair Witch Project," comes the trailer of his latest release, "Exists." The trailer was posted Wednesday at The Queen of Scream, and it looks like the film will take the classic "cabin in the woods" horror scenario and give it a twist by adding Bigfoot instead of demon possession as "The Evil Dead" did.

On a side note, if you haven't seen the smart horror commentary of "Cabin in the Woods," you should.

In "Exists," five friends decide to take a weekend getaway at an old cabin in the middle of nowhere in East Texas and whenever you mix young adults, alcohol and sex, mayhem is sure to ensue. The film was selected for an audience award at SXSW, so perhaps this one rises above the usual fare for the genre, despite the overplayed "found footage" gimmick.

The film stars Chris Osborn, Dora Madison Burge, Roger Edwards, Samuel Davis, Denise Williamson and Brian Steele. Other film credits include writer Jamie Nash and producers Jane Fleming, Mark Ordesky, Robin Cowie and J. Andrew Jenkins, and executive producers George Waud, D. Todd Shepherd, Gregg Hale and Reed Frerichs. Spectral Motion handled the Sasquatch creature design.

The film is set for an October 24 release just in time for Halloween, naturally. What do you think? Will this be the same old cliched horror movie with drunken young adults in a cabin in the woods, or will it rise above the cliches?
