New Toyota and Lexus re-designs unveiled at NAIAS

Toyota and Lexus had major unveils at the North American International Auto Show this week.

The new Toyota concept sports car, dubbed the FT-1, is a dream project that resulted in a one-of-a-kind prototype with the look and feel of a modern-day superhero. It’s all in the name: the FT-1 stands for Future Toyota, and that’s exactly what this car will be.

The much-anticipated Lexus RC F coupe, which has the fastest and most powerful V8 engine of all Lexus vehicles, was also finally fully revealed to those lucky enough to attend the show.

For those of us who were not so lucky, here are some insider details on these models:

· The Lexus RC F coupe goes on sale later this month.

· The RC is powered by a 5.0-liter normally aspirated V8 engine and has more than 450 horsepower and more than 383 pound feet of torque.

· The interior of the Toyota FT-1 was modeled after a modern-day superhero – think Batman’s suit of armor.

· The FT-1 was designed by Calty Design Research studio – the same folks who brought you the Toyota Supra and Lexus SC400.
