Bethesda released a new trailer today for The Evil Within. This upcoming survival horror title is being directed by Shinji Mikami, who most people know as the creator of the classic Resident Evil series.
Today's trailer begins with Police Sergent Sebastian Castellanos being called in for backup. When he and his team arrive, they find the other officers are missing, their vehicles empty of weapons. They enter what appears to be a hospital, in a shot that does feel reminiscent of the original Resident Evil. Inside they find numerous bodies and blood-soaked walls. It isn't long before the supernatural threat reveals itself.
Sebastian is shown sneaking through hallways and hiding in shadows. Being touted as a true survival horror title, one can assume that the enemies will be tough and the ammo limited. If the final product looks as good as this trailer, The Evil Within could be a shining example of what Resident Evil and Silent Hill should have evolved into. The game is expected to release sometime in 2014, and will be available for the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.
