It is a good thing theories are just imagination, otherwise we would have no religion, no God, and no creation. Today's theory is based on “Panspermia”, water traveling between Mars and Earth. Here is how the theory works:
Where ever water is found, life can not be too far behind. Mars, Jupiter, Venus, and even Neptune are said to have evidence of having water on their surfaces at on time. The length of time science estimates that these planets, and others, have been without water is measured in billions of years. According this “panspermia theory”, asteroids, meteors, and meteorites blasted all these planets, including Earth, sending water into the atmosphere and even into space to settle on another planet or moon. With these water droplets are supposedly contained life forms that “colonized “ these other planets. According to this theory, our life as we know it here on Earth is somehow connected to Mars.
I find it hard to swallow, even if it was Martian water.
According to the Bible, one day is as a thousand years with the Lord. If this is true, and it is, then here is the time line for Creation: Day one- God created the heaven and the earth. The heaven is the universe. Genesis 1:2 says that the earth was without form, void of everything, but water. Interesting enough, Scripture says that God “moved upon the face of the waters”. So we know that the earth was all water and the universe was made at the start. Also on that first day God created light, and divided the darkness from the light to create the first day. At this point, we do not know where this light is coming from. So that is day one ...One thousand years in the making by our time table.
Day two: “….God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. And God called the firmament Heaven”. This could be likened to a solid dome. When creation got its first start, there was no rain, all the plants were watered from a mist that rose from the ground, usually during early morning hours or late evening hours. This is the second day.
Day three- This the day when God went all out and created land, formed the seas, and created plant life of all kinds. “And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so. And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And the evening and the morning were the third day”.
Day four brought the sun, the moon, the stars, and the planets which God has place in the universe. He set the sun to rule the day, the moon to rule the night. Day four was the day God created all the animals. The fish, the birds, and the mammals. We have to be careful at this point. Genesis points out this interesting fact: “And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven”. This could be misinterpreted as supporting evolutionist theory of life coming from a fish; or that life walked out of the seas. We must keep everything in the context as how God did it, and what he has written in his word.
Day Five brings man and woman. Adam was created first, and he was living for some time before Eve was created. Chapter 2 of Genesis supports this statement. It goes into more detail of the creation processes. So there you have 6 days of creation, or in real time 6000 years. God rested in the 7th day, or the 7000th year.
Nowhere in the chronological order is shown evolution, or this idea of panspermia. God has put everything in an orderly form of existence. No other thought, theory, or idea can put the existence of life in such an orderly fashion. So, what should we do about all these ideas that seem to crop up about life, all these evidences that support this theory or that idea? Simple...trash it. God's Word is the real record of where we came from, and where we are headed, and how to live life in between. It helps that we take the initiative and study what God has written for our knowledge and edification, instead getting involve in trivial, mundane behavior. Panspermia sounds more like a disease than a life theory.
