Things are picking up speed for the potential "Vampire Diaries" spin-off. The series will focus on Klaus and his time in New Orleans. His brother Elijah, played by Daniel Gillies, has already signed on for the series, and Spoilers Guide reported on Thursday that Claire Holt would also be seen on the new series as Rebekah. Fans of "The Vampire Diaries" might also see other characters from Mystic Falls pop up on the series as well. Joseph Morgan teased the following, according to TV Fanatic:

"There are going to be characters that cross over between the two worlds. It would imagine all the fans that have been so generous to me are going to want to see what happens with Caroline. I feel like I owe it to the fans for there to be some resolve and for her to possibly turn up in New Orleans at some point. I know there's already talks about different characters that can come over to New Orleans and then go back."

The actor teased the casting of Marcel and working with that actor as well in an interview with EW. Morgan said the following about the relationship he has with Charles Michael David, according to EW:

"I used to play poker with him in L.A., so I randomly knew him. He actually won money from me a bunch of times. He’s a really good poker player. He texted me when he was auditioning for it. I’m excited to start it with him, because I feel like I know the dynamic between the two of us works. It’s good to know that that’s something else that works, as well as mine and Gillies’ relationship."

Morgan also revealed that he would like to see Klaus as the underdog at some point if CW decides to move forward with the series. Fans are buzzing about this series on social media. One fan said the following on Twitter recently:

@julieplec @natebuzz #kol lovers are dying over here :::waving:::: Please confirm him for #theoriginals already!!!

"The Vampire Diaries" will continue to air on Channel 6 in Tempe.
