New 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' Offers Different Look at the Halfshell Heroes

Platinum Dunes have ducked out of their shell in showing us their Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but only just a little. They do seem to be keeping something under their sleeves, perhaps holding out for closer to the film's actual release. The latest trailer offers up little in the way of new footage, although it does give us a different look at the Turtles themselves and their nemesis, Shredder, played to scene-chewing effect by William Fichtner.

Much of the attention has focused on Megan Fox and Will Arnett as April O'Neil and Vern Fenwick, respectively, and that continues in this footage. They play the human characters who join the Turtles' fight to save New York City from Shredder and his Foot Clan. You'd probably have a hard time convincing someone this was directed by Jonathan Liebesman rather than Michael Bay, who is merely on board as a producer.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles opens August 8th.
