New Super WHY coloring and craft products
Super WHY coloring and craft activities are now available from local Chicago stores like Toys "R" Us, Kohl's, and Borders. From Jumbo Activity books and mini reward sticker activity books to a color and carry set and educational matching card games and learning card games, there are enough products here to keep kids occupied on rainy days all spring long and car and plane trips and vacations all summer long.
The Water WOW Super Duper Activity Computer sets look especially fun, and they promise to be mess free, even though water is involved in making the pictures appear.
Super WHY toys and games
Some Super WHY electronic toys, role play kits, and action figures are already available at Toys "R" Us, while others can be preordered. The current range of Super WHY toys can be viewed at the PBS Kids® site.
Super WHY games and puzzles are also available. My family recently purchased the Super WHY ABC Letter game locally at My Favorite Toy Store in Elmhurst. Parents can also find them online at amazon, Ty's Toy Box, and Are You Game?, and online and possibly locally at Toys "R" Us and Target.
Super WHY DVD and books
A Super WHY DVD with the Jack & the Beanstalk and Three Little Pigs episodes has been available for awhile, and a range of Super WHY books (each based on one episode of the show) came out over the last few months. The books are great for parents to read with kids because, like the episodes, they have sections that focus on developing literacy skills like alphabet recognition, spelling, rhyming and recognizing word families, and reading comprehension.
Super WHY apparel
Ty's Toy Box also carries a line of cute personalized Super WHY! shirts. A whole range of Super WHY clothing and accessories should be available in the future in time for the fall 2009 back-to-school shopping season.
