New Super Mario Bros. Wii was released in Japan on December 3rd. According to Famitsu, the Nintendo Wii exclusive sold 936,734 copies in that region as of December 6th. 420,000 copies of which were sold on the first day of launch.
With that performance, New Super Mario Bros. Wii surpasses Super Smash Bros. Brawl as the fastest-sellling Nintendo Wii game in Japan.
