Lowdown Brewery + Kitchen opened in early February on 800 Lincoln Street, in Denver’s Golden Triangle neighborhood. Lowdown has recently launched a few summer-inspired items and beers to complement their current stellar lineup.
In sticking with their focus on local elements, this summer’s menu includes a “Farmer’s Market” dish, which is rotated daily using only the freshest Colorado ingredients delivered to the kitchen. The dish can include anything from squash and zucchini to tomatoes and bell peppers. On the last visit, the daily dish was a combination of all – golden squash stuffed full of sautéed zucchini, onions, and bell peppers which were all served over a house made red tomato sauce.
Summer salads can be a bit dull, but not when you order the Ahi Tuna Poke Salad. Raw tuna is diced, dressed lightly in soy sauce and served topped with black and white sesame seeds and sliced green onions. It’s simple, cool, and refreshing on a hot August day.
The crowd-pleaser is surely the Devil’s on Horseback which are bacon wrapped peppadews stuffed with gorgonzola and dried apricot and then drizzled with a thick balsamic reduction.
After enjoying the new summer dishes, don’t forget to round out your meal with one of Lowdown’s freshly made desserts. The dessert menu changes every few days to ensure only the sweetest ingredients are used. It also allows the kitchen to be both flexible and creative on a daily basis.
Two new beers have just been released in August – a flavorful New Belgium Style Saison and an easy-to-drink Pomegranate Wheat beer. The two beers accompany eleven other beers which are all currently on tap.
Lowdown Brewery + Kitchen has to have one of the best patios on Lincoln Street. Take a seat outdoors and enjoy people watching, playing foosball, or just hanging out enjoying the mild Colorado weather.
