If you are looking for a new coffee house in Lexington, then look no further. Starbucks has a new location there that is truly huge. People have mentioned that it is the size of a house, and this is true. It looks as if the building may have been a bank; it is large with brick and does not stand out distinctly as a coffee house until you see the traditonal "Starbucks" signs.
Before anyone gets jaded by a coffee house that is part of a chain, realize that different locations of coffee houses can offer a different feel! This location is not your typical, middle-of-a-city, "give me fifteen shots of espresso" rushed feeling. This Starbucks has a very relaxed feel. The inside has art and dark wood shelving. It feels almost European and definitely sophisticated. Also, the emplyees appear relaxed and content to be where they are. This is always a positive sign in a coffee house!
There is plenty of outdoor seating here. You can basically grab food and drinks and relax outside, unrushed, for as long as you like. People are not crawling over each other in a rush, and this is what makes 5555 Sunset Boulevard in Lexington seem like what a coffee house is intended to represent. Music plays over the speakers outside, and it is really the low-key ambience that people need to slow down after a busy day.
Lexington does offer a fine share of coffee houses. It really is exciting to find another coffee location in Lexington, located basically across from the huge Walmart. For those of you who are cutting on the caffeine, there is still plenty offered by Starbucks. The caramel apple cider is to die for, and it is available all year long. The chai latte really is a special treat, and the employees seem to always get the thick, foamy topping just perfect. This Starbucks comes absolutely recommended for guests looking for a break from work-day stress.
