Made in 1977, shown at San Diego Comic Con 2013, posted on Reddit this week, the nearly two-and-a-half-minute Star Wars blooper reel is currently available on YouTube. (Yes, the first 48 seconds is silent, but still quite laugh-worthy.) But wait, there's more: over 20 minutes more of rare video and 29 minutes of audio interviews. You won't find the additional footage online, though. The extra video, audio, photos and artwork from the Lucasfilm archives are only available in the new “Enhanced Edition” eBook of The Making of Star Wars by J. W. Rinzler (Kindle and Nook).
The Making of Star Wars has been gracing bookshelves and coffee tables since 2007, with The Making of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back following in 2010 and The Making of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi published earlier this month. But even those who own the beautiful and informative print versions may want to buy the eBooks for all of the additional content: nearly an hour of additional video and audio for each book.
If you're one who likes Christmas shopping early, consider these enhanced editions for the Star Wars fans in your life, and in the mean time, share the blooper reel with them. May the Force be with you.
