There is a new species of lice that is spreading across the country that is currently being called “super lice”. The reason for this is that this breed of lice has a strong resistance to the current market over-the-counter lice shampoos.
According to a news report on October 24 from ABC News, this is truly hair nightmare for many families. This particular breed of lice is a lot bigger and stronger than any people have come in contact with before. They have thicker skeletons and have the ability to alter their angling cycles so the process of eliminating them is near next to impossible.
It is recommended that if you or someone you know has the misfortune to have come in contact with this form of lice they should seek medical attention immediately. Since no product known on the market is efficient in eliminating this form of “super lice” your physician should have a better treatment option for kill these bugs.
As a precautionary measure people should collect any item that was worn by those infected with the lice and bag them up. Once the treatment from your physician is defined they will also advise you what to do with the clothing that may also have some of these critters still attached and living within the fibers.
It is a good practice to teach your children about the dangers of lice and the simple safety measures that they can practice to try and avoid contracting lice from fellow friends and classmates. Children and adults alike should never share hats, clothing or combs and hair brushes with each other. Don’t tussle another person’s hair and then run their fingers through their own.
Parents should check their child’s heads regularly to ensure they have not been in contact with someone who has experienced an outbreak of lice. This could spread to the whole family and become a bigger nightmare than it is with one person in the household suffering from this “super lice” outbreak.
If you have lice seek professional treatment at once!
