Shadow Kingdom has made available a track from the album for streaming via Bandcamp. “The Grey God Passes” is the lead song off of the new album, which can be heard at this location. The track listing for “Mysterium” is as follows:
1. The Grey God Passes
2. Stand Your Ground
3. The Battle of Bonchester Bridge
5. Do What Thou Will
6. Only the Brave
7. Hallowed be Thy Grave
8. The Fountain
9. The Calling
The album marks the first appearance of the new rhythm section of the band with bassist Josh Castillo and drummer Andreas “Neudi” Neuderth. While Castillo is a newcomer to the scene (having only previously worked with Manilla Road sideproject Hellwell last year), Neudi has performed with a number of bands, mostly in a live capacity, such as Jameson Raid and Savage Grace.
“Mysterium” is the second full-length Manilla Road album to be issued by Shadow Kingdom Records, having also released the band’s most recent prior album, “Playground of the Damned”, in 2011.
Though the band might not be a household name, the band has been a part of the underground heavy metal scene for more than three decades. Though the band was inactive throughout the 90s, they reunited in the new millennium, with “Mysterium” marking their sixth album since 2001.
Since then, the band has included Bryan “Hellroadie” Patrick as a second vocalist alongside vocalist and guitarist Mark Shelton. The song streaming from Shadow Kingdom’s Bandcamp website features Patrick on lead vocals.
