James Mangold, director of the upcoming 20th Century Fox film "The Wolverine," tweeted a new picture of star Hugh Jackman from the movie's set yesterday morning. This standalone picture is a spin-off of the popular "X-Men" franchise based on the Marvel comic and a sequel to "X-Men Origins: Wolverine."
In this sequel Wolverine embarks on a journey to Japan where he intends to train with a samurai warrior. Fans of the comic know things will not go smoothly for our hero. Will Yung Lee plays the Silver Samurai in the film. In the comic books he is one of the top enemies of Wolverine.
According to the director this new shot comes from a wood chopping scene in Japan during Wolverine's training.
Hugh Jackman is also signed on to the Bryan Singer directed "X-Men: Days of Future Past". He will join an ensemble cast pulled from every film in the saga's history. The fourth "X-Men" film will feature a time travel plot allowing actors like Sir Ian McKellan and Michael Fassbender who played the super villain Magneto in different films to both appear. It was also recently announced that Peter Dinklage has been cast in as of yet unannounced role. He currently can be seen as the star of HBO's "Game of Thrones," which just had its' third season trailer premiere this weekend.
