January kicks off with lots of new series coming to television. Following is a break-down of new series (not including premium channels like HBO, Showtime, etc.) so you know what to look forward to beginning in January.
Tuesday, January 7
9:00 p.m. - Intelligence (CBS) - Josh Holloway (Lost) returns to tv as a high-tech intelligence operative with his brain enhanced with a super-computer microchip. As the first human ever to be connected directly to the global information grid, he is essentially a human computer. This advantage give him the ability to hack into any data center and get key intel as he protects the U.S. from its enemies.
Thursday, January 9
10:00 p.m. - The Spoils of Babylon (IFC) - miniseries – This six-part miniseries combines an A-List cast including Tobey Maguire, Jessica Alba, Will Ferrell, Jellybean Howie, Val Kilmer, Haley Joel Osment, Michael Sheen and Steve Tom with a cameo by David Spade. The story is that of Devon Morehouse (Maguire) and the journey of the Morehouse family’s trek from meager beginnings in Texas to the boardrooms of New York City.
Friday, January 10
9:30 p.m. - Enlisted (Fox) -“Enlisted” is the story of three brothers in the U.S. Army, all stationed at Fort McGee in Florida. Each brother faces different assignments and challenges while they renew brotherly bonds.
10:00 p.m. - Helix (Syfy) – This thriller series follows a team of CDC scientists sent to a mysterious private research center in the Arctic to handle a viral outbreak. The team quickly finds themselves in a terrifying life-and-death struggle that holds the key to mankind's salvation, or total annihilation.
Monday, January 13
10:30 p.m. - Chozen (FX) – When Ian Mitchell (Milo Ventimiglia), a small-time defense lawyer, discovers an intricate box left on his doorstep his world changes. In the box is a gun, a photo of a stranger, and instructions to “expire” this person in three days. Before he can wonder if the box is a prank, he discovers that he is also a target and that he has been 'chosen' to join a secret, deadly game.
Thursday, January 23
9:00 p.m. - Rake (Fox) – Emmy award winner Greg Kinnear plays criminal lawyer Cleaver Greene in a legal drama series as he defends the indefensible - from bigamists to cannibals and everything in between.
