New series brings JAZZ + to the de Young

JAZZ + is the name of a new concert series at the de Young Museum.
Presented in collaboration with the San Francisco Friends of Chamber Music, the series promises to explore “the tradition of Jazz in combination with other musical traditions, ranging from Latin to Caribbean to classical.” The project is an outgrowth of last year’s Chamber Music Day at the de Young, which found more than 30 ensembles ranging from early music and classical to world and jazz playing on a variety of stages throughout the museum.
All JAZZ + performances are free. The concerts are set for 2 p.m. in the Koret Auditorium.
Here’s the schedule.

October 14: Wayne Wallace Latin Jazz Quintet with special guests
October 21: Ben Goldberg School
October 28: Les Gwan Jupons
November 4: Erik Jekabson String-tet
November 11: Miss Faye Carol and Quartet
