Myrtle Beach, one of the most popular travel destinations in the United States and a destination known for fun, sun, and golf will be much easier to get to in 2014 thanks to some airlines stepping up to the plate.

Porter Airlines (Toronto)

It's no secret that Canadians love Myrtle Beach. Porter Airlines is capitalize on that as they will expand their winter and spring seasonal service. It will start on February 15 and run until May 19 with daily service for two weeks during the March spring break and up to six flights a week at other times from Downtown Toronto. The flights will depart from the Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport and arrive at Myrtle Beach International. Visit www.flyporter.com for all the information.

Spirit Airlines

Spirit Airlines has long served Myrtle Beach and now they resume their seasonal non-stop service to Myrtle Beach International earlier than in previous years. Nine cities will be able to reach Myrtle Beach on Spirit. Service will start on February 13 from Baltimore Washington International, Chicago-O'Hare, Detroit, Latrobe/Pittsburgh and Niagara Falls, NY/Toronto. Other flights will begin March 20 from Charleston, WV and Philadelphia and on May 1 from Dallas/Ft. Worth and Plattsburgh, and NY/Montreal. For updated schedules, visit www.spirit.com.

WestJet

More options for those north of the border as WestJet will resume its non-stop seasonal service for a second year. Fly from Toronto Pearson Airport to Myrtle Beach on March 6, which is almost two months earlier than in 2013. Flights will be twice a week on Thursday's and Sunday's March 6 to October 23, so that leaves the possibility for late summer and fall travel which is an ideal time to play golf in Myrtle Beach.
