Leviticus 26:9-12 (NLT) “I will look favorably upon you, making you fertile and multiplying your people. And I will fulfill my covenant with you. You will have such a surplus of crops that you will need to clear out the old grain to make room for the new harvest! I will live among you, and I will not despise you. I will walk among you; I will be your God, and you will be my people.” I am ready for a new season. I am ready to experience the New Year filled with hope that it will not resemble the last. It has been a long haul and race to the finish. There are many things that I desperately would like to leave in the past year as history and lessons learned moving into the new season of harvest that is my hope today. My heart says, “Yes, it is coming!” My mind and body weak and weary of well-doing cry out for relief. Dare I hope in a new season? Should I dwell on a harvest that I cannot see but only envision in the midst of faith and confident hope? The Lord has never let me down. I have never gone without since attempting to trust Him more. Not one time have I wondered where He was or what He was doing in a final outcome, no matter how many times I have questioned Him along the way? The last two years have been run in endurance. A sprint would not take us to the end no matter how many times I wanted to run ahead and finish the course quickly. I have learned to stand and wait on the Lord. I have climbed up and down the watchtower so many times my legs hurt and my heart aches. Now as another year comes to a close, Christmas is just a couple days away which means a brand New Year will soon be upon us. I am ready for a new season. The Spirit confirms His Word, but am I ready…really ready? The end of an old season is a harvest and the beginning of a new season is planting. As believers, we sometimes get that confused. We want God to bless us so we will trust Him more. We desire prosperity as a place to plant. We must prepare our hearts and lives for a brand new season starting today. I hope this new season includes an end to this thing called cancer. I do not want remission but full healing at the Hands of God. God has not been slow in bringing this to pass but working out every detail to perfection. Our son is doing quite well. It is his mother who grows impatient in the process. It has been a long two years. It has included many miles back and forth across the state with hours of alone time with God and many other roadway travelers. When I finally unpacked and settled in with siblings in tow, I realized that I had forgotten my laptop. My heart began racing and sweat formed on my brow. My heart sank in my chest. Each day I meet with the Lord to detail His Words to me, these chronicles are not for others but a direct result of intimacy with the Lord that He has commissioned me to share with you. Immediately, I was desperate in fear that this time would be lost for a couple of days. In my haste to depart, I forgot it. I need this time with the Lord every single day to make it to the next. In His Word, I find comfort, direction and enough faith to get through to the next time we meet. I completely and utterly panicked. So much so that my precious husband offered to drive two hours to bring it to me and a good friend prayed into the night for peace and direction. After calming down, that still small voice spoke to me…it’s a new season! Psalm 85:9-13 (NLT) Surely his salvation is near to those who fear him, so our land will be filled with his glory. Unfailing love and truth have met together. Righteousness and peace have kissed! Truth springs up from the earth, and righteousness smiles down blessings. Our land will yield its bountiful harvest. Righteousness goes as a herald before from heaven. Yes, the LORD pours down his him, preparing the way for his steps. God has prepared the place for our next harvest. It is already recorded in history as a season of blessing in our life. Unfailing love (His Mercy and Grace) met with the Truth (every single promise in His Word) and it is time for us to prosper. However, if we approach each new season as we did the last, there will be no progress in our cultivation. Faith and trust take us deeper into the Presence of God where there is joy and peace in every facet of life so whether it is time to plant or harvest – we are well-cared for and satisfied. God does not begin preparing our life for each new season around us in the world where we can see otherwise faith is not a requirement and hope is not necessary. He begins in our heart. The more of our heart that is set on His Harvest then prosperity will come. We must prepare a place to plant and that place is the human heart. God prospers people from the inside out so you will not experience a natural harvest without a spiritual one. He melts our hearts when get us ready for planting. (Psalm 65:10) Experiencing a lot of “storms” lately? The Lord is preparing you for planting a new word for your new season in your heart. Planting is a must for harvesting. Harvesting represents prosperity in our life. Our new season requires proper placement and sometimes that means moving out of our personal comfort zone. You may lose your job. Spend a great deal of time in hospitals. Move away from home. God will put you in the proper place to bless you! Stop holding on to the past and trying to head for home. Allow God to properly place you so that He can prosper you. You do this by making sure that your heart is in the right place at all times. You must remain righteous at all costs. Genesis 8:21-22 (NLT) And the LORD was pleased with the aroma of the sacrifice and said to himself, “I will never again curse the ground because of the human race, even though everything they think or imagine is bent toward evil from childhood. I will never again destroy all living things. As long as the earth remains, there will be planting and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night.” You have got to plant to harvest. Your new season will be famine if there is nothing in the ground to grow. A seed must be surrendered to produce a crop. It must be planted deep into the ground at the effort of the farmer. Lazy people will not prosper. It is against God’s Word. It says plainly that those who are too lazy to plow in the right season will not have food in the harvest. (Proverbs 20:4) I do not believe necessarily that this applies to human effort because there are a lot of good people who are really trying out there. I believe that this relates strictly to those who cultivate a relationship with Jesus Christ. Superficial acquaintance is not enough. We must sow seeds of righteousness which is daily taking one step closer to the Lord and leaving one more selfish sin behind. We excavate seeds of Truth from God’s Word but choose whether or not to plant them in our life by discipline and obedience. You cannot have prosperity without making an effort to plant seeds of righteousness and live God’s Way. You will only reap what you are willing to sow. (Galatians 6:7) Planting is not always easy and requires a great deal of faith and trust in the Lord. (Psalm 126:4-6) You must not be stingy or sow your life sparingly and expect much in the new season. (2 Corinthians 9:6) The effort that must be used in planting for the new season is faith. Giving what you do not thing you can afford to give rather in time, talent or treasure. Going where you do not think you have the courage and strength to go is an element of trust. God will bless you in the new season. Isaiah 43:18-19 (NLT) “But forget all that—it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.” God is doing a new thing. He is doing exceeding abundantly more than we could ever think or ask. (Ephesians 3:20) How many times must I remind myself of this? I am not as smart as I think that I am. I will never be able to figure out all that the Lord is doing. My new season is according to His Plan. It is a new thing every day according to how far I will go loving and trusting His Word, Will and Way. I am the only one who can limit the potential of my harvest in the new season because I choose to something less than God’s Very Best. I must trust the Lord and dig deeper roots that keep me grounded and rooted by faith in the Truth. This is the beginning and end of prosperity for the believer. It is the purpose of the new season that God is ushering in. (Jeremiah 17:7-9) He is perfecting all that concerns me. (Psalm 138:8) If I believe that I will stand firm on my faith. He is working and weaving all things together for good! (Romans 8:28) If I trust Him, I will only move when He tells me to! My plan didn’t work. It got me in this mess, but His Plan is going to catapult me to success in everything I do according to His Will for my Glory. If I choose to seek His Kingdom and His Plan above all else, my new season is coming and there is nothing anyone can do to stop it. I will have more than enough. My life will be filled with abundance according to His Word. (Luke 13:18-19) James 5:7 (NLT) Dear brothers and sisters, be patient as you wait for the Lord’s return. Consider the farmers who patiently wait for the rains in the fall and in the spring. They eagerly look for the valuable harvest to ripen. God knows exactly what He is doing. There is not a detail left out. I need to stop worrying about everything and learn to wait on the Lord. Quietly and completely, not complaining and whining in my discomfort or discontentment but ready and willing to harvest when the time comes. Trust is best demonstrated during the wait times in life. How do we wait? (Psalm 1:1-4) Is there peace and joy in those times of silence and stillness? For those who are waiting on God not cowering in fear will find such things in the quietness that comes before a great move of His Hand. Many spiritual abortions occur because believers have not taken the time and energy to learn to endure. When it doesn’t happen soon enough or the way that we think it should, we jump in and give God a hand. To be good soil that yields a perpetual harvest, we must learn to plant God’s Word in our heart, cling to it, and have the patience to wait on the huge harvest that God is producing in our life. If you want His Best, you are going to have to have the patience to wait on God. 3 John 1:2 (NKJV) Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. If we only could see how big God is, how good He is, how faithful He is and most of all just how very much that the Lord loves us, maybe then we could prosper in each new season. Prosperity and harvest begins with our soul. God’s Purpose and Plan begins and ends in salvation. You will never experience a harvest that will take you from His Hand. God prospers you because He takes pleasure in you! (Isaiah 53:10-11) If we remain in His Hand, pleasure belongs to us and prosperity. (Psalm 147:11 & Psalm 14+9:4) We will always prosper in every season when we continually plant seeds of righteousness that keep us clinging to His Word, walking in His Way and doing His Will. Your new season is inevitable if your soul prospers! God wants to give you His Kingdom! (Luke 12:31-32) This is not a new plan but fulfillment of His Plan all along! (Ephesians 1:4-6) What is keeping you from having God’s Harvest in your life? He will keep trying to move it out of the way like rocks from a garden so you will experience a new season and harvest sending rains out of season if that’s what it takes to level the soil and ridges in a hard heart! Embrace the new season, look for the new day, it is coming just like He promised it would for those who allow their soul to prosper first! Hebrews 10:37-39 (NLT) “For in just a little while, the Coming One will come and not delay. And my righteous ones will live by faith. But I will take no pleasure in anyone who turns away.” But we are not like those who turn away from God to their own destruction. We are the faithful ones, whose souls will be saved.” Yes, I know in my heart a new season is just around the corner. Will you be ready when it comes? God has prepared the place but are you willing to go? Will you give more of yourself than ever before planting more than you ever have? Are you willing to work God’s Plan this time? Do you have the patience to wait until He comes (stubbornness will work until patience are produced)? Will you surrender your heart to prosper? If you do, you will find yourself harvesting where you did not plant! (John 4:37-38) This is the season that we are headed into. The enemy will try to discourage, detour and delay you. Don’t fall for his tricks but hold on to the Word of God for your life. It will come to pass! Are you willing to put some effort into it? The effort that the Lord requires is faith. Do not give up! Press on! The new season is yours, if you choose to have it! Philippians 2:12-13 (NLT) Dear friends, you always followed my instructions when I was with you. And now that I am away, it is even more important. Work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with deep reverence and fear. For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.
