Boston University School of Theology is conducting a new survey to study the characteristics of new and renewed adult converts to religion.
The study project, Finding Faith Today, part of the Center for Practical Theology, is "surveying and interviewing adults aged 18 and over who, since January 1, 2011, have made a new declaration of faith or otherwise signaled that they have adopted a religious faith as their own."
The survey is being sent to clergy and religious leaders since they would have more intimate knowledge of persons who fall within the purview of the survey. It is strictly anonymous, voluntary and in-depth.
The survey allows for open-ended questions and is quite extensive. Pastors are encouraged to ask any questions to alleviate any concerns.
The unique survey follows in the footsteps of a twenty-year-old study by Bishop John Finney. The project does not appear to be advertised beyond emails sent to local churches.
