It was reported on Jan 21, 2012 that the three new Bollywood releases "Inkaar", "Bandook" and "Mumbai Mirror" had a lacklustre performance at the box office.
The movies did not face much competition in regional languages as there were no major releases.
"Inkaar", directed by Sudhir Mishra had much hype and a bigger star cast starring Arjun Rampal and Chitrangada Singh.
The movie got better response and is expected to increase revenue over the weekend to recover the budget.
As per Businesstoday, the opening was around 10-15 per cent at the box office and the movie did not perform well in rural regions. The movie grossed about 1.70 crores on its day one at Indian box-office.
"Mumbai Mirror" failed to register any impact at the box-office. The opening was around 5 per cent at the box office.
As per reports, audience still prefer previous week releases, Vishal Bharadwaj's "Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola" in Hindi.
Regional movies "Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu"(SVSC) , "Naayak" and "Saadi Love Story" have also been successful in retaining the audience. For both, the movies next week will be tough as "Race 2" will be releasing.
