New release to Home Video: January 15, 2013: Prepare to be Taken again!

It’s 2013! This is the first great week for options as this is a great week for home movie enthusiast. The best week of release in 2013 so far comes this week when on Tuesday January 15, 2013. With as many as four buyers have a plethora of top notch choices that will make them dig into their wallets.

This week’s Spotlight release:
Taken 2 (Liam Neeson, Femke Jensen, and Maggie Grace)
The follow up to the 2008 action thriller that helped to reinvigorate the career of Neeson. Taken 2 returns him to the role of Bryan Mills, the retired CIA agent, who stopped at nothing to save his daughter Kim from Albanian kidnappers. Now the father of one of the kidnappers has sworn revenge and takes Bryan and his wife hostage during their family vacation in Istanbul. Bryan enlists his daughter to help them escape.

The other high profile films that debut this week are the horror thriller The Possession (Jeffery Dean Morgan and Kyra Sydgewick), the sci-fi film Branded (Leelee Sobeski, Max Von Syndow, and Jeffery Tambor), and Won’t Back Down (Maggie Gyllenhal, Viola Davis, and Holly Hunter). The four hits make for a good week for buyers and definitely present them with great choices that should make this week a great week to drop into the stores.

In addition to the quartet of former big screen films, there are some great A list actors that enhance the entertainment potential of this week’s direct to video choices. These talented actors may just tip the scale and seduce you into spending a few dollars to grab one or two of these films. The Top choices are listed below:
To Rome with Love (Woody Allen and Jessie Eisenburg)
About Cherry (James Franco, Heather Graham, and Ashley Hinshaw)
Reel Evil (Jessica Morris, Jim Tavare, and Jeffery Adler)
Last Fall (Luke Goss, Vanessa Bell Calloway, and Nicole Beharie)
Love Me (Lindsay Shaw and Jamie Johnston)

You can currently order any of the titles above for pre-order from Amazon. They will be for sale on this Tuesday at all home video retailers but for movie enthusiasts in Baltimore, I recommend making a pit stop at my favorite local vendor in Baltimore for DVD and Blu-ray releases, The Sound Garden in Fells Point.
