New release to Home Video: 3/19/2013: The best week for releases so far in 2013

Quality! That is the best word to describe the new releases to DVD and Blu-ray for this week. This could be the best week of the year for home video lovers. There’s a multitude of great choices that are chocked full of high potential. Buyers will have to dig deep into their wallets because there are as many as five must buy films that debut this week. From great films of fantasy to picture of the year nominees to real life heroics. This week is truly a great week if you love movies. This great five some of entertainment consists of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (Ian Mckellen, Martin Freeman, and Richard Armitage), Zero Dark Thirty (Jessica Chastain, Joel Eggerton, and Chris Pratt), Les Miserables (Hugh Jackman, Anne Hathaway, and Russell Crowe), and This Is 40 (Paul Rudd, Leslie Mann, and Megan Fox). Home movie Enthusiast should feel like Christmas has come early!

The Spotlight: The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey: Peter Jackson takes us on another journey to Middle Earth. The Hobbit is a precursor to the events of the prior Lord of the Rings Trilogy. This film tells the story of Bilbo Baggins and how he acquired the "one ring."

There are a number of good choices that have the potential to make you dig just a little deeper into the wallet to grab one off the shelves. The best of the them are listed below:

Thor: Legend of the Magical Hammer (Justin Gregg, Paul Tylak, and Nicola Coughlan)
Straight A’s (Luke Wilson, Anna Paquin, and Ryan Phillippe)
Bachelorette (Kirsten Dunst and Horatio Sanz)
The Girl (Toby Jones and Sienna Miller)
24-Hour Love (Malinda Williams, Keith Robinson, and Tatyanna Ali)
23 Minutes to Sunrise (Eric Roberts, Nia Peeples, and Bob Zany)

You can currently order any of the titles above for pre-order from Amazon. They will be for sale on this Tuesday at all home video retailers but for movie enthusiasts in Baltimore, I recommend making a pit stop at my favorite local vendor in Baltimore for DVD and Blu-ray releases, The Sound Garden in Fells Point.
