As the holiday season draws closer, it’s a great week for finding stocking stuffers for your favorite movie lovers. There’s a duo of great choices for entertainment that debut on this Tuesday December 10, 2013. Two of the biggest hits of this past summer finally find their way to home video and just in time for Christmas. T Fast and Furious 6 (Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson) and Despicable Me 2 (Steve Carril, Kristen Wiig, and Ken Jeong).
The Spotlight: In the wake of the tragic loss of Paul Walker, the latest addition to the film franchise that made Paul Walker a star hits the shelves this week. Fast and Furious 6 release this Tuesday. FF 6 was easily one of the best films of this past summer; it features Paul Walker making a return to the role of Brian Conner. Great action and a great cast, FF6 continues the ongoing story of the Conner and the Turattoes as they redefine the action genre.
There is also a good number of potentially entertaining films among the direct to video release as well. Two in particular stand out so you should really take a look at them and think about putting out a few extra dollars or you can just be on the lookout for my review on them very soon! The best of the week are:
Adore (Naomi Watts and Robin Wright)
Battle of the Year (Josh Holloway and Josh Peck)
Man of Tai Chi (Keeanu Reeves, Tiger Hu Chen, and Karen Mok)
Some Girls (Adam Brody, Kristen Bell, and Jennifer Morrison)
Steal (Stephen Doriff, Natasha Henstridge, and Steven Beckoff)
You can currently order any of the titles above for pre-order from Amazon. They will be for sale on this Tuesday at all home video retailers but for movie enthusiasts in Baltimore, I recommend making a pit stop at my favorite local vendor in Baltimore for DVD and Blu-ray releases, The Sound Garden in Fells Point.
