Tampa, Florida: 3 Players Sports Group, Inc. President Patrick J. Schaefer today announced the Company has established an operational and promotional affiliation with Sunshine Drag Strip in Clearwater, Florida. Sunshine Drag Strip with function as the host track for production of the RACER television show and will assist in co-promoting the event.
RACER, a new reality television show, combines two of the most popular on-air entertainment concepts – auto racing and reality television – to create an unmatched, action-packed TV series featuring side by side legal track drag racing and a test of the contestants driving ability through completion of an auto-cross course immediately after the race segment.

To capitalize on the affiliation with the Sunshine facility, the production date of the RACER series is being delayed from the June 19th & 20th dates originally established to early in the fall to enable proper joint promotion of the event by the Track and the Producers.

According to Schaefer, “Our affiliation with an established race facility such as Sunshine Drag Strip (and their sister track, Bradenton Motorsports Park) is a major boost for the RACER program. The professionals who own and manage the track have been invaluable in providing marketing, promotional and other information that will allow us to stage a much better event for the local race community and produce a television program that will feature the Tampa Bay community in the best possible light. The Tampa Bay area is heavily populated by race fans, which is why we decided to base and produce RACER here.”
To be eligible as a contestant, male and female applicants must be licensed drivers 18 years of age or older and not have driven as a professional race car driver. The contestants will be judged on a point system with each weekly show having 1 winner and becoming a semi-finalist. The final show of the series will feature the winners from each previous program, who will race to determine the Grand Prize winner of RACER.
