The premium 18-hole track in Kanata will soon debut a top-of-the-line putting course for players to refine their strokes on while also providing families with a wonderful outing option.

“We’re providing another grassroots entry point for golf,” said Andrew Donaldson, director of golf operations for The Marshes. “The putting course will look great and be a fun place for many children as they are introduced to the game.

“The pricing will be family-friendly and less than what it costs to go to a movie.”

The lighted layout’s hours are slated to run from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. each day.

Harris Miniature Golf Courses is the design company and they're close to completing the project.

Dads, moms and the kids are about to discover elevated greens, creative landscapes and water obstacles that include a waterfall when they look to ace each hole.

Meanwhile, The Marshes is running a contest for the month of August.

“A Stay and Play Staycation Package for Two can be entered by going to our Facebook contest app,” said Donaldson. “The winner receives accommodations for two nights at the Brookstreet Hotel, 18 holes of golf on the championship course and a round on MarchWood, our nine-hole executive course. Each person also picks up a $10 breakfast voucher and access to Brookstreet’s flex fitness studio and pools.”

MarchWood provides for an enjoyable game when schedules call for quicker rounds and is ideal for younger players and men and women who are just taking up the game. It is a par 27, measuring 1,252 yards in length.

“We’re experimenting with larger holes of eight-inches in diameter on MarchWood to see if they make the game more attractive to recreational players,” he said.

Donaldson adds that The Marshes’ golf boutique is offering a 20% off sale that stretches to a 30% price reduction when purchases exceed $100, and includes the opportunity to win a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses.
