Today during a Sony Playstation 4 press conference at Gamescom, Andrew House, President and Group CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment Sony, made an announcement that gamers have been waiting to hear; the Playstation 4 will be released on November 15, 2013! Finally, a deadline for the anticipation that has already garnered more than a million pre-orders.
Here are some other juicy tidbits that were announced at the Gamescom, PS4 press conference. Sony's Jim Ryan announced that, as of tomorrow the PS Vita will cost $199. A music festival simulator game Big Fest is heading to PS Vita. With large crowds and the ability to create and promote bands on the touring circuit, you can build the park, visit friend’s festivals, and more on your quest to being the world’s greatest music promoter. Sony announced the Little Big Planet Hub. This will be a free service that will allow gamers to create levels, issue challenges, play other created levels and have access to tons of DLC.
Pre orders on Grand Theft Auto 5 will receive a PS3 Super Slim bundle. The pack includes a 500GB PS3 Super Slim, 75% off any Rockstar game and a headset. Pretty good deal, if you don't want a PS4. The Playroom - billed as a collection of “unique experiences” will be pre-installed in all PS4s. PlayStation Plus was discussed - with free trials and free games. PS4 owners can get a free 14-day trial of PS Plus when they get their game, as well as free access to Driveclub and Housemarque’s shooter Resogun. Assassin’s Creed 3 is also going free on PS Plus soon. Starting tomorrow, if you sign-up to PS Plus, Sony will add 90 days to your membership for free. Gran Turismo 6 will launch December 6 along with an initiative called Vision Gran Turismo which will see many of the world’s leading manufacturers creating concept cars in-game and - in some cases - real life.
