Square Enix has revealed another new set of development screens for their internally-developed Luminous engine, which will most likely be used for future PS4 and Xbox 720 video games from the company. According to a report by 4Gamer on Jan. 27, the latest images take a look at the advanced hair technology running in real time from the “Final Fantasy” tech demo. The new game engine from Square Enix was first shown off during the E3 2012 event. The company plans to keep it internal as they don’t plan to license their tools to external developers.
The PS4 and Xbox 720 are the two upcoming consoles that the Luminous engine may be built for. Both consoles are expected to be released by the end of this year, although Microsoft is more likely to meet the launch timeframe with the Xbox 720 than Sony will with the PS4.
