Today photos surfaced of a new DCI judge foil Imperial Recruiter, which might be the most expensive judge foil ever printed. The promos, which are distributed by Wizards of the Coast at professional "Magic: The Gathering" tournaments to judges for their valued volunteer efforts, are highly sought by players and collectors alike.
Imperial Recruiter - 2R
Creature - Human Advisor (Promo Rare)
When Imperial Recruiter enters the battlefield, search your library for a creature card with power 2 or less, reveal it, and put it into your hand. Then shuffle your library.
1/1
Imperial Recruiter was originally printed in "Portal Three Kingdoms" as an uncommon, and the print run of the set was so small that it retails for a whopping $350 on the secondary market. In contrast, its digital counterpart on "Magic Online" from "Masters Edition II" can be found for a scant $2.
This marks many firsts for Imperial Recruiter. It's foil, with the new modern card frame, Human creature type added, and cleaner updated card text (although we liked the little shield representing toughness on the original).
Imperial Recruiter sees some fringe play in Legacy, where it can fetch Painter's Servant to Grindstone an opponent or be used in Aluren decks to find Cavern Harpy or any other creature. It's a much more exciting card in Commander, where there's always a fun target to find.

Expect the new DCI judge foil Imperial Recruiter to fetch a hefty price on the secondary market, and settling around $100.
Several other recent DCI judge promos include: Noble Hierarch, Karakas, Karmic Guide, Sword of Light and Shadow, and Xiahou Dun, the One-Eyed.
