With the Greater Phoenix Gluten-Free Expo just a few months away and Natural Products Expo West taking place next month, we are being flooded with new product news these days. Here’s another quick update on some of the brands that will be launching new items in the months ahead.
Local brand Gluten Free Creations has introduced WunderfulTM Bread – an airy, white bread with a super-light texture. The new bread contains B vitamins, iron and folic acid and freezes well. It’s being featured for a special introductory price of $5.50/loaf. They are also launching Wunderful Rolls, which are ideal for burgers, sliders or sandwiches.
Orgran will be launching a number of new “super-grain” products containing quinoa at this year’s Natural Products Expo West. Like the rest of their products, these new additions will be gluten, egg, dairy and GMO free. Select Orgran products are available locally at the Gluten Free Country Store in Gilbert.
Fabe’s will be adding several new varieties of cookies to its gluten-free line. The new items, which will debut at Natural Products Expo West, include: Dark Chocolate Mini Cookies and 2.25oz large cookie; Cranberry Orange Mini Cookies and 2.25oz large cookie (this flavor debuted as a holiday item at Whole Foods Market last year, but will now be available year round); and a 2.25oz Coconut Macaroon large cookie.
Ruth’s Hemp Foods will be launching two varieties of tortilla chips: organic blue corn with hemp and organic yellow corn with chia. Both will be on available at the company’s booth at Expo West.
Shabtai Gourmet will be adding Mini Swiss Rolls to its line of dessert items later this year.
Beanitos has introduced two new flavors: Chipotle BBQ Black Bean and Cheddar Cheese Pinto. The new varieties hit store shelves last month. All Beanitos are now GMO free and certified Kosher as well.
Andean Dream will be coming out with three new pastas, a new cookie flavor and a meal solution later this year; date to be announced.
Barbara’s Bakery has added Peanut Butter and Chocolate to its line of Puffins cereals flavors. All varieties of Puffins are currently on sale for 15% off on the company’s website, available in single boxes or multi-packs of 12.
The Gluten Free Bar (GFB) is developing new flavors and will likely be introducing a new product in the first half of this year.
Lundberg’s organic Roasted Brown Rice Couscous, launched late last year, is now widely available locally from Sunflower Market, Whole Foods Market, Sprouts Farmers Market and other retailers. The couscous comes in four varieties – Plain Original, Savory Herb, Roasted Garlic & Olive Oil, and Mediterranean Curry – and cooks in about 15 minutes.
The Healthy Pantry will be transitioning to 100% gluten-free meal kits this year. The brand’s products can be found locally at the Gluten Free Country Store in Gilbert.
