In the ever changing and competitive market of wireless phone service AT&T has decided to lower rates (once again) in order to charm their way into the hearts of old and new customers.

Beginning Sunday, March 9, 2014, AT&T will extend savings to customers with one and two lines. Which means consumers will have the ability to enjoy the new 2GB Mobile Share Value plan which starts at $65 a month, which is $15 off the current 2GB plan for one smartphone plus there is no annual service contract.

“We’re continuing the trend of offering more value to our new and existing customers. Not only are families and small businesses able to save more on their monthly data plans, we’re now delivering that same great value to individual customers,” David Christopher, chief marketing officer, AT&T Mobility has said.

That sounds great but parsing through the small print can be a chore for the best of us. Basically signing up for this new plan gets you unlimited talk, text, and international messaging, and 50GB of Cloud Storage space (which saves a pretty penny). Now what does 50GB look like— about 30,000 pictures.

This plan is great for those who need international services because AT&T recently added unlimited international messaging to all Mobile Share Value without an extra cost. The regions that are covered are Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands more than 190 countries for text messages and 120 countries for picture & video messages, when sent from the US.

Customers can also receive a $100 bill credit for each new qualified line of wireless service added – whether a smartphone, tablet, mobile hotspot or A T&T Wireless Home Phone.

Now let’s wait and see which other service follows suit. Maybe one day the cost of mobile service will be cheaper than having a home phone.
