New Poster for X-Men: First Class Revealed

New faces for the upcoming film X-Men: First Class are revealed as a new promotional poster began making the internet rounds earlier this week. Previous posters, which included shadowy images of the main characters, Professor Xavier (James McAvoy) and Magneto (Michael Fassbender), had been largely panned by both fans and critics alike, with one popular website stating the images looked as if they had been “photoshopped by a ten-year old”.

In addition to Professor X and Magneto, the latest characters featured on the new image include those of a young Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence), Dr. Moira MacTaggert (Rose Byrne), Emma “White Queen” Frost (January Jones), Sebastian Shaw (Kevin Bacon), and Hank “Beast” McCoy (Nicholas Hoult).

X-Men: First Class is a prequel to the recent X-Men franchise, and  will give fans a beginning perspective of the mutant struggle, as it chronicles the origins of the complicated friendship between  Charles Xavier and Erik Lendsherr (who later adopts the moniker Magneto). Once united in a common goal to help their fellow mutants, the two friends slowly take opposing positions as Charles’ desire for peace between mutants and humans conflicts with Erik’s assertion that mutants are more superior than humans and should therefore be in control. Thus, the battle between Professor X’s “X-Men” and Magneto’s “Brotherhood” is born.
