New Pokemon revealed to be Eevee evolution

A new Pokemon from the next generation of Pokemon games has been revealed in Corocoro magazine in Japan. The first to be revealed since the initial announcement, it is reported to be an evolution of the Pokemon Eevee, and named Ninfia in Japanese.

Images were first leaked online of the silhouette of a quadrupedal Pokemon with long ears on the cover of Corocoro, a magazine with a reputation for releasing Pokemon news. When the magazine went on sale, scans on the inside were uploaded to the internet, and we were able to see the Pokemon for the first time.

Ninfia is a small, white and pink fox-like creature. It has two bows, one of its ear and one around its neck, and ribbon-like features with blue tips. Next to its illustation is an Eevee, with an arrow indicating an evolutionary line.

On January 8 2013, Nintendo announced the next wave of Pokemon games, Pokemon X and Pokemon Y. The worldwide announcement featured the three starting Pokemon Chespin, Fennekin, and Froakie, as well as two legendary Pokemon. Since the announcement, Nintendo has been quiet about any other new Pokemon.

Ninfia's type and how it evolves are both unknown. More information may be given in the Pikachu short 'Pikachu and Eevee Friends,' which will feature Ninfia.

The new Pokemon games are set to release worldwide in October on the Nintendo 3DS. Fans who just can't wait can visit the Raleigh Pokemon League, where they can meet other players, trade and battle Pokemon from any generation, and play the Pokemon Trading Card Game.
