Folks have been wondering, hypothesizing and wildly guessing at when exactly the PlayStation 4 will be announced to the gaming world.
According to a report from IGN yesterday, a new teaser trailer has been released from Sony that has many thinking one of two things.
This trailer is either a teaser for the upcoming PlayStation 3 exclusive "God of War: Ascension," which is the most likely scenario, or it is for the imminent introduction of the PlayStation 4.
The video shows a woman dressed in white walking through a windy plain, surrounded by tall wheat grass, and then it cuts to a rougher looking eye, followed by the lasting message of, "February 1st, 2013."
This looks and smells like an ad for "God of War: Ascension" or perhaps it is for a new "God of War" title that has yet to be unveiled.
The latter is unlikely given that the newest installment in the series is only about a month away from being released, and a new game announcement now would sort of take the spotlight away from "Ascension."
The other possibility of course, is that Sony is indeed teasing a reveal for the PlayStation 4. The video is called, "Game Day 2013," which does separate from "God of War" connections.
This seems extremely unlikely though, given that there is no special Sony held event scheduled anytime soon.
In addition, Sony has made it fairly clear that they want to announce their system closer to E3 or at the gaming expo.
It's an interesting ad nonetheless, but what do you think about it? It has "God of War" written all over it, doesn't it? You can view the video below if you would like.
