New pilot project set to help low-income clients with volunteer lawyers

A new program, dubbed JusticeServer, is a new pilot project in Virginia that will match volunteer attorneys with low-income clients.

AG Cuccinelli announced that JusticeServer is anticipated to help at least 1,500 clients yearly.

Among the partners in the JusticeServer program are the following: Capital One, the law firm of McGuireWoods, and the Central Virginia Legal Aid Society, among others.

JusticeServer is expected to give greater one-on-one counseling and decrease case backlogs.

The new program comes at a vital time in Virginia as the class divides in society have become a political focal point for anger and disillusionment. This isn't to say, however, that JusticeServer's underlying mission is that social justice.

As Cuccinelli pointed out, one of the biggest goals of JusticeServer is to reduce case backlogs, a result which could relieve the legal justice system of enormous stress.
