On August 15, 2014, Karis Art Gallery announced that they have welcomed two new pieces of art by Peter Karis. The gallery, located in Hilton Head, S.C., not only exhibits these two new pieces, but many others as well!
Karis' latest creative endeavors in the world of art entitled "Lowcountry Legendary Live Oak Trees" include "Lagoon Live Oak" (acrylic on canvas 30 x 24) and "Mighty Oak Memories" (acrylic on canvas 24 x 30). Karis is an artist who is known for being an expressionist who works in acrylic. This talented artist is not only on exhibit at Karis Art Gallery, but he has also been exhibited throughout the U.S. including the Nabisco Gallery, Cleveland Clinic, Cooperstown Art Museum, Butler Museum and Kent State University.
In 1993, Karis was one of three American artists selected to exhibit at the Gallery Roseg. That gallery is located outside of St. Moritz in Switzerland. In 2005, Karis was nominated to participate in the Annual International Biennial of Contemporary Art. The event was held in Florence, Italy.
Peter Karis paints people, flowers, trees and other objects. Karis creates his art as he interprets the objects versus how others might see them. He has won numerous awards, one of them being the Juno Award. The award is known as the Canadian equivalent of a Grammy.
These latest pieces of art, the "Legendary Live Oak" paintings, demonstrate only an inkling of Karis' talents. Another is that of "Mystery Love," and it has also been represented by the Karis Art Gallery at Village of Wexford. In July 2014, "The Paintings of Peter Karis in the Collection of Omni and Marriott International were announced as well (see slideshow).
