“Hidden in Plain Sight” features new paintings by Washington D.C.’s Christopher Baer.

According to a press release by the gallery, Baer’s work is often created on large canvases.

His “Palisades” series, featured in the exhibit at Page Bond Gallery, “explore the relationships of color, line and the materiality of paint.”

Baer’s work is a “unique interpretation of expressionist and color field work” and each piece shows a record of its creation for the viewer.

“Because of this sense of participation, each animated brush stroke and application of paint feels like our own,” Page Bond Gallery says of the artist’s work. “As joyful explorations of color, brushwork and line, his bold canvasses convey a contagious sense of exuberance and optimism.”

“Hidden in Plain Sight” will be on view through Saturday, March 29.

Page Bond Gallery is located at 1625 West Main Street, and can be reached at 804/ 359-3633. Gallery hours are Tuesdays-Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
