This past week, New Orleans’s own Private First Class Raheim Daniels deplaned at Louis Armstrong International Airport to the open arms of his wife and family, an event that wouldn't have been possible if not for Operation Homefront.
Operation Homefront’s “Home for the Holidays” program provides 25,000 toys and more than 17,000 meals to military families through events nationwide, and brings 500 active duty service members home for the holidays.
The “Home for the Holidays” program was made possible by a $1.5 million grant from Walmart.
A very special Christmas for a couple different reasons, Private First Class Daniels will help celebrate his six-month old son's first Christmas while also reuniting with his father who has been battling cancer since Daniels has been deployed.
From all of us at Examiner we'd like to welcome Private First Class Daniels home, and sincerely wish him and his loved ones a wonderful holiday!
Formed in 2002 Operation Homefront was developed to support the families of deployed service members immediately following 9/11. Click here to learn ways to get involved with Operation Homefront, and to make a donation click here.
