The Super Bowl is in New Orleans this year and many celebrities and television shows are visiting and taping segments for their shows live from the party city.
With the Super Bowl being smack in the middle of Mardi Gras season, New Orleans is getting more attention than ever and New Orleans natives are welcoming fans from Baltimore, San Francisco, and every state in between with gracious hospitality and open arms.
Well, almost everybody.
The cast and crew of CBS' "The Talk" including Sharon Osbourne, Julie Chen, Aisha Tyler, Sara Gilbert, and Sheryl Underwood are filming live episodes of their daytime talk show direct from the heart of the city in Jackson Square.
The cast and crew have been enjoying the weather, the people, food, and the crazy, unique, Naturally Nawlins' sights of the city since being here.
Angelica McDaniel, senior vice president of daytime programming for CBS, said this;
“New Orleans is actually our biggest city, with our biggest following. New Orleans has been such a great city and showed such support over the years for CBS daytime.”
Now New Orleans locals are asking them for support back, and that is by asking them to remove their sign that was placed on the historic Andrew Jackson statue located in Jackson Square.
Social media sites like twitter and facebook have exploded since people have seen and found out about the big sign saying, "The Talk" that is in their words, disgracing the statue and the city"
Bernie Murden took the picture and posted to a friend's wall and it went viral.

"I'm pretty sure apologies are in order for the blatant disrespect to Andrew Jackson, Louisiana, and new Orleans. Its is tacky and distasteful to post an advertisement of a war memorial that means so much to so many people. Who even thinks to do such a thing. Social media is absolutely pathetic and the extremesto which some people go to get attention makes me sick. So ill be waiting for that apology to the people of new Orleans"
"You are spitting on Louisiana History with your sign on the Andrew Jackson Statue!!!!!"
"Seriously, you had to put your sign on the statue in Jackson Square? It is one of our most iconic images and really doesn't need to have your logo on it."
"Please, please take the sign off the Andrew Jackson statue in Jackson square. It is upsetting to see that to all of us locals. We are glad you are here but be respectful."
"How tacky of you to do your advertising on landmarks!! Isn't there somewhere else you can do this. This is complete disrespect of Nola. I wouldn't watch your show simply based On this. This just shows that u want to make your money and you don't care how you do it."
Not a big fan of how y'all disgraced our Jackson square with your sign.. I would have thought someone would have put a little thought into making it blend in with our city's historical landscapes.. Very disrespectful to us and our treasured city..."

"With all due respect, I would ask that you please be respectful of the non-commercial nature of New Orleans and remove your sign. If nothing else, it is disrespectful to hang a sign on what is, in essence, a war memorial. Thank you."
One of New Orleans small business owners, Lauren Thom of FleurtyGirl also posted her thoughts on the sign;
"Andrew Jackson saved New Orleans from the British. It's a monument here in New Orleans that we respect. We're glad to have you here, but I feel the logo on our monument in Jackson Square is in poor taste. I cringed when I saw the photo going around. It feels like a violation. I, or any other New Orleanian, would be happy to help you find another significant place around Jackson Square to put it. New Orleans is full of beautiful backdrops!"
There has been no response as of yet from CBS or anyone from The Talk, but I am sure we will hear from someone associated from them soon.
As of this evening the sign was removed, but there is word that they will put the sign up, covering Jackson's name while the show is taping.
The Talk's executive producer John Redmann said this about the city and I think it speaks volumes, especially in this instance;
“From the moment we got off the plane, there is an energy in the air here that you couldn’t get anywhere else in the world.”
An energy for sure, an energy that is letting them know, we are happy you are here, we appreciate you being here and visiting our great city, but please respect us and our history, local monuments, and and all that we are, we would do the same for you.
"The Talk" will conclude their airing from New Orleans on Friday February 1, 2013.
