New Oprah book excerpts paint bad picture as Kitty Kelley's Oprah bio climbs on Amazon.com's best-seller list
The excerpts of Kitty Kelley's new Oprah book called "Oprah: A Biography" are painting a not-so-pretty picture of the talk-show queen from the south.
And because of the juicy tidbits coming out the day before the new Oprah book has folks buying the book in droves -- sending it to the #7 position on Amazon.com's best-selling books list as of this writing.
Vernon Winfrey, who raised Oprah in lieu of the father whom Oprah has begged to know the identity of (Kitty Kelley apparently knows who Oprah's dad is but is waiting until Oprah finds out herself), is quoted in The New York Times as saying:
“She may be admired by the world, but I know the truth. So does God and so does Oprah. Two of us remain ashamed.”
The Washington Post writes about a hissy fit Oprah allegedly threw in an art gallery -- referring to herself in the third person: "Oprah doesn't walk; Oprah does not do stairs."
The Huffington Post quotes Vernon as saying Oprah no longer believes in Jesus Christ as her Savior, like he raised her (page 29) -- and page 4 of 13 on their photo spread gallery.
"It disappoints me that she has changed so much over the years. She's become too close to that woman Gayle, and she no longer believes in Jesus Christ as her Savior. That's just not how I raised her," Vernon Winfrey said about Oprah, whom he raised.
And though the world knows Oprah to be a giving person who has given extravagant gifts to her staff and those in need, the colorful-speaking Vernon claims he knows why Oprah won't marry:
"Forget about a wedding...It will never happen...She won't every marry Stedman because...she's all for herself and not about to give up anything for anyone...She's content with who she is. With Oprah it's root hog or die poor," Kitty Kelley quotes Vernon as saying in the new Oprah book excerpts.

...but the New York Daily News says that Tesh freaked out when he saw his white skin against her black skin one night -- and bolted.
"I can't think of a better life story," Kitty Kelley said of Oprah, stating, "she gave me a gift. I really think the fans will love it."
Oprah is a woman who is "choked with secrets," Kelly said. "She described herself as a prostitute in her own biography...a result of the terrible abuse she suffered..."

We will just have to see what Oprah says about all this. Kitty has been wrong before and her motive is $$$$.
This is news? "The Huffington Post quotes Vernon as saying Oprah no longer believes in Jesus Christ as her Savior, like he raised her..." All you have to do is watch her New-Age-religion-touting show to see Oprah is no Christian.

I don't see how any of this is "news" or interesting. All it shows is that Oprah is a normal person like everyone else, and that the man who raised her has some personal negative feelings about her, and the person who wrote the book is hoping to make money off rather boring and irrelevant gossip.
This person chooses to say a few part facts and add every negative assumption about whom ever she chooses. I do not watch Oprah unless I just happen to not be busy, but Kitty Kelly collects trash. She would find a flaw in The Almighty, his or herself.
I like that Oprah has an open mind to all kinds of beliefs, shows she is a spiritually evolved person. I'm sure it would be pretty hard not to let her success go to her head somewhat, but I think the talking in third person was probably Oprah joking. In fact I can just hear her saying that, with a laugh. Kitty Kelley is a character lacking opportunist, like a Perez Hilton of books.
So if this book turns out to be a lie, Oprah will sue the author and Mr. Vernon, right? I knew she has changed a lot like a queen of the universe. When someone gains so much power, it is a normal process to have a strong head feeling like the whole world is under her control. She becomes her own God. People began to say she no longer believes anything but herself. Good. One less celebrities I respect. Don't you appreciate some people with power and fame who remain humble and down to earth?
Oprah scares the crap out of people. Good. But if she and Gayle aren't have a lezzie affair then I couldn't care less anyway. Anything short of that is boring.
If Oprah and Gayle aren't having a lezzie affair, then who cares? That's the big bomb everybody wants.

My respect for her plummeted upon her interview w/Lisa Marie Presley. She out-right doubted Michael Jackson's innocence. By now she knows the facts & I would venture to think her friend Gail does also. Has either one ever come clean about it ? No.
"has given extravagant gifts'; big deal. One of the world's greatest humanitarian's passed. Does she even say boo about all Michael gave ? She has no time I guess. It's easier for her to play the hypocrite & acknowledge him superficially.
Her "tribute" to MJ was more about her than him. She furthermore continued her insinuations of MJ. Did anyone see any reviews of that ? Don't think that there were any. Ya think she'd want anyone to know she got bashed for it ?
She's got money all right. Not with the Lord ? No kidding.
Oprah is becoming old news. She's an Icon of the 90's like Michael Jackson was. Too bad they both lied about who they really were. I think this book came out just in time because Oprahs ratings have been going down fast. I can't believe Judge Judy has higher ratings. Judge Judy, are you kidding!! SEE FOR YOURSELF.
