Crucible of Worlds marks the fifth modern "Magic" card to receive a special old school frame foil. The other four are Sword of Fire and Ice, Sword of Light and Shadow, Dark Confidant, and Noble Hierarch.

Crucible of Worlds was originally printed in "Fifth Dawn" and was the second "You Make The Card," in which "Magic: the Gathering" players voted on the Wizards website. Read Mark Rosewater's wrap up here. It would later be reprinted again in "Tenth Edition."

Crucible of Worlds is regularly paired up with a full playset of Wasteland in Legacy to punish decks that rely on nonbasic lands, and is often seen with its best friend Strip Mine to lock out opponents in Vintage.
